Tools Required
- 17mm Spanner or socket set
- Work gloves
- Block of wood or blade brace
- Rag or brush
1. Power Down and Secure
Turn the mower off and let it cool completely.
Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
2. Position the Mower
Carefully tip the mower onto its side with the air filter and carburetor facing upward.
Place a block of wood between the blade and the mower deck to keep the blade from rotating.
3. Remove the Old Blade
Wearing gloves, use a spanner to loosen the blade bolt.
Remove the bolt, washer, and blade, keeping track of the order they came off.
4. Inspect and Clean
Check the blade mount and bolt for damage or excessive wear.
Wipe away grass buildup or debris from the underside of the mower deck.
5. Install the New Blade
Position the new blade so the cutting edges face the correct direction.
Reinstall the washer and bolt, tightening it securely but not excessively.
6. Return Mower to Upright Position
Carefully set the mower back on its wheels.
Reconnect the spark plug wire.
7. Test
Start the mower briefly to ensure it runs smoothly and without unusual vibration.
Turn it off and recheck that the blade feels secure.
Safety Notes
Always wear gloves when handling blades—they are sharp even when dull.
Never work on a mower that is connected to a power source.
If vibration or noise occurs after replacement, stop using the mower and recheck installation.
